These recordings will delight many music lovers! Almost exclusively ragas are played, ie certain ancient sequences of notes that bring our vibrations into harmony. The ensemble plays ragas for healing, for certain times of the day and year and for spiritual expansion of consciousness. The musical instruments are tablas, mridanga, violin, harmonium, tamboura, cymbals and an electronic organ.

Swami Ganapathi Saccidananda, who was born in 1942, is an Avadhuta, i.e. a Swami who lives outside of the formal orders. He is revered by his followers and devotees as an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya and sees it as his task to reinterpret the eternal wisdom for the present day and to show people practical ways to experience God. He recommends all three paths of Jnana, Karma and Bhakti Yoga as well as simple breathing and yoga exercises. For several years Shri Swamiji has also been visiting the West more often, giving Kriya Yoga courses and reviving the old Vedic fire ceremonies. He also loves to make music himself. Experiencing Swamiji and his musicians live in concert is something special. This concert has a special touch because Swamiji and his ensemble play almost exclusively Ragas, which are certain ancient sequences of notes.
