Origin and properties of the ingredients:
Soap, sugar surfactant and fatty alcohol sulphate work together in this liquid detergent to complement and reinforce each other. For the soap, rapeseed oil/sunflower oil from controlled organic cultivation is saponified in a special saponification process, without the addition of heat from the outside, with the help of potash lye. As a washing-active substance, soap uniquely combines all the dirt-wetting, dirt-dissolving and dirt-carrying properties necessary for the washing process. This effect of the soap is enhanced by sugar tenside and fatty alcohol sulphate, which are obtained from the purely vegetable raw materials sugar, starch and coconut fat by chemical reactions with the help of acids. Citrate, the sodium salt of citric acid, is added to bind the lime in the water. It is obtained by fermentation of sugar-containing by-products such as molasses. The alcohol, which is obtained by fermenting vegetable starch, serves to keep the detergent liquid and thus enables a high concentration of washing-active substance. Castor oil sulphated, also called Turkish red oil, is obtained by reacting the oil with sulphuric acid. It increases the fat dissolving power of the detergent.

Product feature:
The special, energy-saving method of saponification without adding energy and the use of oils and essential oils 100% from controlled organic cultivation are essential quality features of the Color detergent. The use of a combination of citrates and soap means that no extra softener is required for all water hardness levels.

Ecology
Biodegradation:
Compared to all other washing-active substances, soap made from vegetable oils has the special feature that immediately after use it combines with the lime always present in wastewater to form lime soap and thus neutralises itself in its surface-active effect on aquatic organisms (primary degradation). The lime soap is then rapidly degraded by microorganisms to 100 % carbon dioxide and water (secondary degradation). In the production process of sugar surfactants, coconut fatty alcohol sulphate and sulphated castor oil, parts are taken from the vegetable raw materials starch, sugar and fat, which, however, remain completely intact in their natural structure. Therefore, it is relatively easy for microorganisms to completely degrade these surfactants to 100 %. Soap, sugar surfactants, coconut fatty alcohol sulphate and sulphated castor oil are considered to be readily biodegradable according to OECD.
