The scent of the tonka bean is delicate, sweet, warm, cheerful and Venusian. It has a harmonizing and mood-enhancing effect. Hardly any other scent spreads such a positive, golden mood as tonka, even in trace amounts.
As a whole bean, it is carried around as an amulet for luck, money and love. As a wish bean, it can be buried in the ground in a chosen place with a wish spoken. To smoke, the beans are best ground with a nutmeg grater.
