Kala Namak is the perfect ingredient for vegan dishes. With tofu or avocado, it is the ideal alternative to egg. The spice salt is especially recommended with vegetables and exotic fruits, but also with veggie fish alternatives.

It comes from Ayurvedic cooking, where it is used for chat masala or dishes like chutneys, raitas, dal, curries and all kinds of fruits. In Ayurvedic teachings, it is also considered a cooling spice (vata).
